In May, 1746, he was commissioned as an Ensign in the third company under the command of Col Elisha Williams, of Weathersfield, raised for a contemplated expedition against the French in Canada. During a portion of his life, he was a sea captain. His widow died in 1775. They had seven children."
Son Roswell Redfield was lost at sea; no grave. Daughter Margaret married Josiah Baldwin, no further information. Son John Redfield m. Amanda Russell in 1758, physician, died in 1813. Daughter Elizabeth Redfield d. 1812, no further information. The other three children are listed below.
