RITES HELD FOR MRS. TUCKER

Services were held Saturday at Carbondale, Ill., for Mrs. Lora Jane Tucker, 66, former Marshall County resident, who died last Wednesday. She had been ill for five weeks. Burial was at Paducah, Ky. She was born at Liscomb, March 1, 1899, the daughter of Frederick and Edith Speicher Buchanan. She was married to George Tucker in 1924. They lived in Marshalltown, moving from here 20 years ago. Mrs. Tucker was a saleswoman in a department store in Carbondale. Survivors include her husband; a son Richard of Fredonia, Ky.; a daughter, Barbara; three sisters, Mrs. Bess David of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Lola Baker of Kahoka, Mo.; and Mrs. Helen Hawn of Denver, Colo.; a brother Ray Buchanan of Hampton, and two grandsons. Attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Tucker, 111 N. 13th Avenue.

MRS. CUNNINGHAM'S MOTHER DIES IN CARBONDALE, ILL.

Mrs. Lora Tucker, 66, mother of Mrs. Lou Cunningham of Eddyville, died Wednesday night at her home in Carbondale, Ill. Mrs. Tucker and her husband, George, moved from Paducah to Carbondale about six years ago. They came to Paducah from Oak Ridge, Tenn., in the late 40's. She was born in Liscomb, Iowa. Mrs. Tucker was an avid bowler and Saturday afternoon the $100 Bowl broadcast over WPDS-TV, paid a special tribute to Mrs. Tucker while showiing her picture. There were two funeral services. The first service was in Carbondale on Friday, the second at the Roth Funeral Home in Paducah. Burial was in Paducah in the Oak Grove Cemetery. In addition to the husband and daughter, she is survived by one son, Dick Tucker, of Fredonia, also a champion bowler, two grandsons, three sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Lora Jane Tucker, 66, formerly of Paducah, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at her home, 712 W. Sycamore St., Carbondale, Ill. Mrs. Tucker and her husband, George B. Tucker, moved to Carbondale from Paducah six years ago. She was born in Liscomb, Iowa. Besides her husband, survivors include a son, Richard Tucker of Fredonia; a daughter,Barbara; a brother, Ray Buchanan of Hampton, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Bess David of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Lola Baker of Kahoka, Mo., and Mrs. Helen Hawn, of Denver, Colo., and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roth Funeral Chapel with the Rev. E. Thach Shauf officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Roth Funeral Home after 6 p.m., Friday.
