Charles L. Boyles, 80, of Loyalsock Township, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 4, 1931, in Hillsgrove, a son of Charles and Sadie Howard Boyles.

Charles was a Korean War Army Veteran and retired as a heavy equipment operator from PENNDOT. He enjoyed square dancing, hunting, the outdoors and most of all loved spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Sidney, Walter, Gordon and Donald and two sisters, Pearl and Hazel.

Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former, Faye C. Mingle; three sons, Steve A. of Rockledge, Fla., Douglas C. (Sheryl) of Oostburg, Wisc., and Randy L. (Patricia) of Montoursville; two daughters, Lori F. (Thomas) Butler of South Williamsport and Lynnette S. of Rockledge, Fla.; two brothers, Carl and Howard (Carmen), both of Montoursville; a sister-in-law, Joyce Boyles of Williamsport; nine grandchildren, Steve, Tara, Megin, Chas, Nicole, Nathan, Douglas, Colin and Nolan and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Pastor Mark D. Brumbach officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
