WAYNOKA, Okla. - Gertie Mae Bixler, 96, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Waynoka Church of God with the Rev. Charles Newton, pastor of the Morning Star Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Waynoka Cemetery by Marshall Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bixler was born April 23, 1906, near Waynoka. She married Roy Bixler on Sept. 17, 1923. Survivors include four sons, Leroy, Leon, Virgil, and Albert; three daughters, Lorene Stow, Lois Janney, and Carolyn Edwards; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 20 great- great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Stark. The family suggests memorials to the Morning Star Baptist Church or Crown of Texas Hospice, Amarillo, TX.
