Chico Enterprise-Record, Chico, CA, Saturday, July 31, 1976: "Mid-Valley Obituaries. J. W. Bisset. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home for Joseph Warren Bisset, 88, of 1243 Broadway. He died Thursday at a local hospital.

"Born Feb. 14, 1888, in Gridley, he was reared and educated there. He came to Chico in 1907, working for the Northern Electric Railway Co., then in 1919 for the Great Western Power Co. and finally for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. He retired in 1953.

"He married the former Edith Scarborough in 1921. She died in 1927. His son Robert Warren died in World War II. Surviving is a son, Harry of 2170 Floral Ave., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

"Rev. Wendell Pew of the First Christian Church will officiate, with Joyce Bae as organist.

"Interment will be in Glen Oakes Memorial Park.

"Casketbearers will be Howard Smith, Robert Dickey, James Herceg, William Martin, Gary Bobinger and Warren Dreiss.

"The family requests that donations be made to the Heart Fund, care of the Brusie Funeral Home."
