He became a prisoner of war of the Japanese Army in the fall of Corregidor on 06 May, 1942.Private Bisset was taken to the Japanese Army at POW Camp 1, Cabanatuan 1-2-3, Nueva Province, Luzon, Philippines 15-121 where he died of disease.
After the war his remains were not able to be positively identified. He is most likely buried as one of the "Unknown but to God" in the Manila American Cemetery.
