"Laney Nellis Milks died at her home at Elk Creek, Tuesday evening, at 6 o'clock, death being caused by melancholia and aneamia with which she had been a patient sufferer for over a year. Laney Nellis was a daughter of the late Abraham and Harriet Nellis and was born August 24th, 1842, in the town of Roseboom. In 1860, she was married to Horace Milks, who died in 1904. Her entire life was passed in that locality. A kind neighbor and loving mother and good Christian woman she was highly respected by all who knew her. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. M. Baldwin of Westville; one son, LeRoy Milks with whom she resided, two grandchildren, Mrs. M. B. Dewey of Sidney Center and Jesse Nellis of Oneonta; one sister, Mrs. Martha Palmer; two brothers, George and Norman Nellis of Elk Creek. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 o'clock at the house.
