Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - June 30, 1992. Deceased Name: DEATH: RALPH DURFEE. Ralph Durfee, 91, passed away June 27, 1992 in Salt Lake City. Born Feb. 2, 1901, in Dublan, Galeana, Mexico, to Edmond Franklin and Nancy Ellen Martin Durfee. Married Venice Gagon in the Manti LDS Temple July 18, 1928; she passed away Dec. 12, 1980. During his life he worked as a farmer, miner, cement finisher and was a pioneer of Ouray Valley in Uintah County. Active in the LDS Church his whole life serving as Bishop or in a bishopric for 25 years, and has held numerous positions. He and Venice served a mission in Montana.

Survived by five children: Delsa (Elmond) Wilson; Kay (Carol), Coy (Verna) Durfee; Janet (Mark) Swain; all of Salt Lake City; and Melba (Byron) Bolton, Roosevelt; 22 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 1992, 11 a.m. at the LDS Taylorsville Garden 2nd Ward, 4252 So. Bennion Rd. (1905 West). Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 So., Salt Lake City, and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the ward. Interment, Vernal City Cemetery, 4 p.m. Thursday, 1700 So. 500 East, Vernal.
