Kay O. Durfee was born Monday, August 29, 1932 in Leota, Utah to Ralph and Venice Gagon Durfee.


Kay married Carol Ann Jensen on April 24, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple.


He loved his family, serving as a high priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving his country for 21 years in the Air Force, and 50 years of scouting service during which he earned the Silver Beaver and Silver Seagull awards. He retired from the Federal Reserve Bank and was very active in doing genealogy and traveling.


He passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the age of 76.


He left to cherish his memory his loving wife, Carol; children: Robert (Vietta) Durfee, Michael Durfee, Douglas (Jamie) Durfee and Curtis Durfee; 18 grandchildren; sisters, Delsa Wilson and Melba Bolton; and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Coy Durfee and a sister, Janet Durfee.


Funeral Services were held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Taylorsville Gardens Second Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saintrs located at 4252 South Bennion Road (2030 West) in Taylorsville. Calling hours were held on Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home located at 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West) in Taylorsville and on Monday at the Church from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Kay was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Sandy.
