THOMAS BARLOW OF YORKTOWN DIES

Shoe Cobbler One of Town's Best Known Men.

Thomas (Tommie) Barlow, 85, Yorktown's "little shoe cobbler," died at his home in Yorktown at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday after an illness of many months.
Mr. Barlow, who was less than five feet in height, was one of Yorktown's best known men and had lived there 33 years, coming to Delaware County from Scott County, Ky. He had been a harness maker and shoe repairman since moving to Yorktown. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Eva Asbury of Muncie, Mrs. Clara Mahoney of near Parker, Mrs. Harriott Applegate, Mrs. Lula McKibben and Miss Anna Barlow, all of Yorktown; a son, Buford Barlow, of Yorktown; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, Charles Barlow, a World War veteran, died several years ago.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Yorktown Christian church with the Reverend O.V. Gray of Garrett in charge. Burial will be in the Yorktown Cemetery. The body will be returned to the family home Wednesday evening from the Richman-Prillaman mortuary.
