Services are 10 a. m. Saturday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home for Henry L. "Buddy" Mackie, Jr., 87, of Fayetteville, N. C., formerly of Hattiesburg, who died Dec. 2, 2009, at Woodlands Nursing and Rehab Center.
Burial is in Columbia City Cemetery with military rites by the VFW Post 3036 Honor Guard.
Mr. Mackie retired from St. Regis Paper Company as a supervisor. He served during World War II as a naval aviator. He was a member of Cross Creek Presbyterian Church PCA in Fayetteville, and former member of Woodland Presbyterian Church PCA in Hattiesburg.
Survivors include his wife, Lottie Mae Holston Mackie of Fayetteville; a son, Jim Mackie of Fayettevill; and two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. and Mary Gilliam Mackie Sr.
Visitation is 5-8 p. m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Palmer's House for Children, Columbus, Ms.
