Maurine Bower Hardesty died July 31, at her home in Douglas following an extended illness. She was the daughter of Clyde H. and Hazel (Tracy) Bower. She was raised and educated in Douglas, attended the University of Wyoming, and returned to Douglas to teach in rural schools. Later she was bookkeeper-secretary for Woodruff Seed Company. She married Harold F. Hardesty on Feb. 16, 1934 at Hot Springs, S.D. She is survived by her husband of Douglas; two daughters, Chris Elaine Nachtman of Douglas and Sue Loraine Westbrook of Spearfish, S.D.; one sister, Erma Edwards of Everett, Wash.; and two grandsons, Terry Lee Nachtman of North Palm Beach, Fla. and Shane Westbrook of Spearfish, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bruce Bower. (Information was obtained from her obituary in the Douglas Budget Aug. 8, 1985 and cemetery records.)
