Albert E. Moore (1926-2012)
Albert E. Moore, 85, a longtime Wickliffe resident, passed away peacefully at home Jan. 24, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 23, 1926, in Cleveland.
Mr. Moore was a graduate of Collinwood High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was granted an honorable discharge.
He was employed by White Motor Corporation for 29 years and retired from National City Bank.
Albert was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs. He loved to garden and enjoyed the outdoors.
He was the dearest father of Paul A. of Chicago, Ill., and Ann M. of Willowick; cherished grandson, Brian A. of Chicago, Ill.; brother of Margaret Jersan and Virginia Mutch of Mentor and Louise Hoste of Euclid; and brother-in-law of James (Charlene) Fornia of Reynoldsburg. He also leaves many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Antoinette, whom he married April 26, 1952; parents, Cyrus and Louise (nee Rosequist) and Mathew Jackson; brother, Ralph Moore; sister-in-law, Catherine Avila; and brother-in-law, Frank Fornia.
"While we deeply mourn the loss of Albert in our lives, we rejoice in knowing that his love lives on in each of us forever. Join us as we honor this special man's memory and celebrate his life."
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
The family wishes to thank his friends at Altercare of Mentor and Faithful Companions for their love and attention in the past several weeks.
