Saphronia was the daughter of James Bybee and Mary Cook. She was born at Mt. Ida, Montgomery County, AR. Safronia was only 5 or 6 years old when she lost her mother.

Safronia married William Jackson "Jack" Baker on 20 Aug 1865 in Montgomery County, AR.

Their large family was composed of the following children: Margaret Delilah, James, William G., Malinda Ivy, Mattie A., Bell, Lewis, and Verdie.

Though the years, they moved from Arkansas, to Texas, finally settling in what was then Indian Territory, Oklahoma.
