RICKE, Henry: "Was born March 31, 1853, in Schleswig-Holstine, Germany, and died at his home in Marathon, Iowa, January 5, 1919. He came with his parents to America at the age of 5 years and settled at Dwight, Illinois where he grew to manhood. On February 26, 1879, he was married to Miss Mary Miller; they lived around Dwight, Illinois, and later moved to Iowa. To this union was born six children, Lillie Della, Sophia Rebecca, John Arthur, Jesse Franklin, Benjamin Albert, and Maude May. Henry also had a sister, Sophia Ricke (Peter) Steubenrach and one brother, Peter Ricke." (Henry was interred at Marathon Cemetery.)
