Find Little Baby
Girl Dead In Bed
At 4 This A. M.
Helen Louise Bennett, the nine months' old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bennett, was found dead in bed at 4:00 o'clock this morning, at the home of its grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Moystner, who live on the Cel Walker farm. Mrs. Bennett and daughter came here a week ago last Wednesday from their home in Jackson, Mich., to spend a few days with her parents.
Last Tuesday morning, as Mrs. Bennett started down stairs with the baby in her arms, she tripped and fell 18 steps. Mrs. Bennett was not seriously injured, but the baby remained unconscious until noon. Dr. Schurtz, who was called, was unable to find any internal injuries and only a bruised place on the right side of the head was all that he could find. Last evening the little one was coughing some and the mother made a poultice and put on her lungs, but by 4:00 this morning she was feared dead.
The father, Wm. Bennett, who is an employee of the Michigan Railway Co., at Jackson, Mich., has not arrived as yet, and until he does no definite arrangements for the funeral will be made.
