Obituary for William A. Cole, February 16, 1989 (unknown paper):
TELL CITY - William A. Cole, 62, died at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1989 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky., after a short illness.
A native of Liberty City, Ind., he was born Dec. 19, 1926, the son of the late Homer and Mabel (Arnold)Cole.
Mr. Cole was employed for 17 years with Mulzer Brothers as quarry superintendent. In September 1962 he left the quarry business to begin his own business. He first started the Tell City Mobile Home Sales and later expanded to Cole Steel Corp., Commercial Steel Construction and real estate holdings.
He was a charter member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Tell City, and held various offices in the church over the years. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific theatre as a member of the U. S. Navy See Bees construction division. He was a past member of the board of governors of the Indiana Mobile Home Association.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Irene Mulzer; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Carolyn) Roberts, Tell City; two sons, Michael and Randall Cole, both of Tell City; four sisters, Doris Grauberger of Longmont, Colo., Jane Mulzer of Tell City, Madge Hunt of Fort Wayne and Norma Alexander of South Bend; a brother, Rex of Columbus; and four granddaughters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. EST Friday, Feb. 17 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Tell City, with internment in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday (today) and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
