Mrs. Walter C. Blum
A Mass of Christian Burial was said Saturday in St. Mary's Church here for Mrs. Marie C. Blum, 81, of 103 Main St., Dansville.
Mrs. Blum, the widow of Walter J. Blum, former proprietor of the Blum Shoe Store in Dansville, was dead on arrival Thursday (June 29, 1978) at Noyes Memorial Hospital where she was taken, after being stricken while attending Mass in St. Mary's Church.
A native of Dansville, she was a charter member of the Ladies Guild of St. Mary's Church. She was an active adult leader for the Dansville Girl Scout Council for many years.
Mrs. Blum was a former chairman of the Dansville American Red Cross membership campaign. She was a member of the Sixty Plus or Minus Club, Blue Cross Circle and Women's Social Club of the Protectives Fire Co.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James Derrick of Niceville, Fla., Mrs. Robert F. Hart and Mrs. John J. Welch of Dansville; 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A prayer service was conducted in the Johnson Funeral Home. Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery.
