Lula Faye Phillips, 81, of Guntersville died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital.

Mrs. Phillips was born Dec. 21, 1930, in the Hebron community to John and Leona Holt Lewis.

She was a dental assistant for the late Dr. Asa Dodd, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Guntersville and was a member of LLL Sunday school class and was a member of the Eastern Star in Guntersville. She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing and playing with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter: Terri Lee Phillips-Jackson of Guntersville; sisters and brother-in-law: Cracie Hand and Mary and Wayne Canfield of Guntersville, Eula Mae Cooper of Albertville and Frances Tucker of Arab; sister-in-law: Margaret Phillips and Byron Buchanan of Guntersville; granddaughter and in-law: Sarah Olivia and Christopher Morrison of Guntersville; and great-grandson: Landon Morrison of Guntersville.

She was preceded in death by brothers: J.B. Lewis and L.D. Lewis; and sisters: Della Walker and Gertha Lewis.

The funeral was at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Guntersville with the Rev. Joel Samuel and Charles Watkins officiating. Burial was in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
