Angela Barten (Nee Hootman), age 86, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2010, at Sunny Hill, Joliet. She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis (Frank) Bentley and Marie (Jim) Uthe, her seven grandchildren, Laurie (Nick) Amelio, Sherry (Bert) Reyes, Frank (fiancé Erica) Bentley, Christine (Mike) Clark, Jayme (Terry) Murray, Jim Uthe, and Katie (Lloyd) Walerczyk, twelve great grandchildren, her sister-in-law, Shirley Kuebel and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil "Bud" Barten, her parents, Robert and Clara Walsh and her brother Robert. Angela was a life long resident of Manhattan, she graduated from Peotone High School in 1939 and was long time active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Manhattan where she participated in the Women's Fellowship Group. Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Joliet Area Community Hospice and to everyone at Sunny Hill for their support and wonderful care. Angela will lie-in-state Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 10:00A.M., at St. Paul United Church of Christ with Rev. Carol Currier-Frighetto officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 3-8:00P.M. at Forsythe Funeral Home. Interment Manhattan Center Cemetery. Forsythe Funeral Home 507 S.
