Richard Billmeyer, 77 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died, Tuesday, January 17 at Bridgeway Estates in Little Falls, MN. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 20 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church Belle Prairie, MN with Father Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may gather from 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. on Friday at the church.

Richard Billmeyer was born on December 23, 1934 in Hillman Township, Minnesota to the late Theodore and Anna (Huver) Billmeyer. Richard grew up in the Pierz, MN area. As a young man, he worked on his family's farm and other area farms. He was united in marriage to Karen Faith Poland on September 7, 1957 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Onamia, MN. The couple made their home in Freedhem, MN. Richard worked on threshing crews in North Dakota and on the Lake Superior ships. He also worked for Burlington Northern Railroad in the tie yard and as a night watchman. Richard briefly owned and operated the Freedhem General Store with Karen in Freedhem, MN. Karen died on September 11, 1973. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Hildegard Barthel on May 31 st , 1975. The couple made their home in Freedhem, MN and then Little Falls, MN. He retired from Burlington Northern in 1982.

Richard enjoyed woodworking, traveling, weekly card parties, casinos, cards at the West Side Café and visiting with his large extended family. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Billmeyer of Little Falls, MN; children, Julie (Joseph) Lauer, of Sartell, MN, Faith (Vince) Pavkovich of Big Lake, MN, Paul (Nancy) Billmeyer, of Rice, MN, Dennis (Jeannette) Barthel of Luxemburg, MN, Helen (Harvey) Bloom of Randall, MN, Gerald (Johnnie) Barthel, of Staples, MN, Karen (Roger) Harakel of Randall, MN, Donna (Brad) Beaty, of Little Falls, MN, Rodney (Dahna) Barthel of Blaine, MN; siblings, Lorraine (Leonard-dc'd) Voigt of Buda, TX, Ervin (Louise) Billmeyer of Buckman, MN, Doreen (Kenneth-dc'd) Seppelt of Isanti, MN, Donna (Andrew-dc'd) Block of Little Falls, MN, Gerald (Jeanie) Billmeyer of Sierra Vista, AZ; 40 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Anna Billmeyer; first wife, Karen Faith Billmeyer his wife of 16 years; sons, Steven Edward Billmeyer, Eugene Richard Billmeyer, Donald William Barthel; great-great-granddaughter, Bailey Diane Gosiak; siblings, Irene (infant) and Rhinehart (infant), Leona (Lawrence) Hiemenz and Reinhard Billmeyer.
