Louis Reinkens Funeral Held
Final rites were held from the Whiteside chapel here at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon for Louis W. Reinkens, 61, who died in a Portland hospital last Thursday. Rev W.R. Caldwell officiated and burial followed in the family plot in Wynooche cemetery here.
Mr. Reinkens was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Reinkens, Wynooche Valley pioneers. He was born in Nordstand, Germany, on March 2, 1873. When he was 17 years old, he accompanied his parents to this county. They came directly to Grays Harbor, but he stopped in Illinois, where he lived seven years. He then spent four years in Minnesota after which he joined his parents here.
He was in Grays Harbor for 30 years, leaving here in 1921 for Mossy Rock, where he spent the remainder of his life farming. He had been ailing since last June and the last six weeks of his life were in a Portland hospital where he died last Thursday. While in Grays Harbor county he was employed most of the time in various logging camps.
He was married here June 20, 1920, to Mrs. Ida Hendricks, who survives him. He is also survived by one married son, Ancel, by a former marriage, in Seattle, four step-daughters and the following brothers and sisters: Tony Reinkens, Mrs. Ed Valentine, Mrs. Mary Larson, Mrs. Harry Carter, and Mrs Parker Askew, all of Montesano, Jake Reinkens, Satsop; Ernest Reinkens and Mrs. Zierolf, Gold Hill, Ore., and Bernard Reinkens, Pasco.
