J. L. Harrison Funeral Here
James Luther Harrison, long¬time resident of Mitchell County, died Friday at 1:10 p.m. in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral for the 87 year old retired painter was, Saturday afternoon in Kiker and Son Chapel. Rev. Glenn Roenfeldt, minister of the First Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in the Colorado City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Tandy Curlee, Fred McKay, Olson Sweatt, Luke Thomas, Bill Carter and J. L. Bassinger.
Harrison was born in Freestone County April 24, 1883, and married Georgia Ann Chaney in Cleburne March 20, 1910. She died in October, 1967.
A member of the Baptist church, he had lived in Colorado City 57 years .
Survivors are two sons, Luther N. Harrison and Jimmy L. Harrison; one daughter, Miss. Thelma Harrison, all of Colorado City, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
