Willie was born in Newcastle, England, although both of his parents were from Scotland. He was born to James Lorimer and Jean Wallace Lorimer on 21 June 1849. His family sailed from Liverpool on the Leviathan in August, 1853 to settle in Dunmore, PA. Sadly, Willie died in Feb of 1854 before he was 5 years old.
