Robert V. "Bob" Aaron, 80, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, in Sarasota, Fla. He was born Nov. 27, 1930, in Monticello, Ga.
Robert and Betty moved to Arcadia, Fla., 42 years ago from Washington, D.C. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia.
Robert served our country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force with tours of duty in Korea, Germany, and at the Pentagon.
After retiring from the service, he spent the rest of his working career in the medical field as a hospital administrator. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, which included fishing, boating, camping and gardening. He loved football and cheered for the Florida teams, The Buccaneers and Dolphins. Bob always looked forward to Christmas, his favorite time of year.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty A. Aaron of Arcadia; two sons; one brother; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at First Baptist Church, 1006 N. Brevard Ave., Arcadia, FL 34266. Funeral Services will be at the conclusion of the gathering at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Richard Englert officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, where the Veterans Honor Guard will render military honors.
