Raymond J. Martin was born March 3, 1923 in Curtin, WV to William S. Martin and Minnie B. Sparks Martin. In June 1926 Raymond and his sister Ora and brothers, Dale and Arnold were placed in the Davis Child Center. Raymond Martin was adopted by Dana Charles and Blanch Johnson Thumm. Blanch Johnson Thumm died in a sanitarium and Dana remarried. Charles Dana Thumm was raised by his adopted grandparents (grandmother, Esta).

Charles D. Thumm, 61, of 109 18th St., Dunbar, died Wednesday in Memorial Division, CAMC, after a short illness.
He was a retired employee of Columbia Gas. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunbar and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was formerly of Charleston and was a 40 year resident of Dunbar.
Surviving. wife, Doris Parkins Thumm, sons, Lawrence R. "Randy" of Dublin, Ohio, Gregory A. of Daytona Beach, Fla., half sister, Thelma Walls of Cross sLanes; one grandchild.
Service will be at 2 p.m. friday in First Baptist Church; Dunbar, with the Rev. Delvin D. Elwell officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
