Albert Boyd Evans, 66, of Ash, died Saturday, March 31, 2007.

Born in Brunswick County on May 7, 1940, he was a son of the late A. E. (Sonny) and Hattie Elnita Register Evans. Mr. Evans was employed by National Spinning Company in Whiteville for the past 47 years. He was a charter member of the former Waccamaw Lions Club and Shallotte Masonic Lodge No. 727 AF & AM, Brunswick Chapter No. 341 Eastern Star. He was chairman of the Brunswick County Planning Board, a former member of the Brunswick County Board of Health and was an independent insurance agent.

Surviving are his wife, Frances (Frankie) Stocks Evans, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd Ray and Lorrie Kay Knight Evans, Timothy and Kelly Evans, and Keith and Lisa C. Evans, all of Ash; one brother, Marvin Evans, of Ash; three sisters, Mabel Money, of Bolivia, Carolyn Evans and Marie Milliken, both of Thomasville; and five grandchildren, Bryan Evans, Justin Evans, Samantha Evans, Hannah Evans and Brandon Evans.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Myrtlehead Baptist Church, where Mr. Evans served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and in various other positions. Officiating was the Rev. Jack Martin, the Rev. Eugene Evans and the Rev.

Sterling Sarvis. Burial was in the Myrtlehead Cemetery.
