Hattie Elnita Evans, 89, resident of Century Care, Whiteville, NC formerly of Ash, NC, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, in the Columbus County Hospital.

Mrs. Evans was born on November 20, 1914, in Columbus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late James Kelly and Hattie Smith Register.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Marvin Lee and Lucy Evans, Ash, NC, Boyd and Frankie Evans, Ash, NC; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mabel and Devaun Moody, Bolivia, NC, Carolyn and Elbert (Dicky) Evans, Thomasville, NC, Marie and Norwood (Sonny) Milliken, Thomasville, NC; ten grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 10th in the Myrtle Head Baptist Church by the Rev. Charlie Smith. Burial will follow in the Myrtle Head Cemetery.
