Funeral services for lifelong Wilson resident, Winnie Marie Beck, 81, were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, at the Assembly of God, with Rev. Jim Gillum officiating.
Born June 28, 1915, in Wilson, to John Monroe and Ellen Couch Claxton, she died December 3, 1996, in Wilson.
The former Winnie Marie Claxton was married to S.C. Beck, on April 30, 1934 in Wilson, and except for a few years in California, had lived her entire life in Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 20, 1975; a daughter, Wanda Jean in 1937, and an infant son in 1943, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include daughter, Betty Rich, Wilson; sons, James and Roy, both of Ardmore; sister, Cleo Emerson, Wilson; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren.
Bearers were Terrell Tucker, Dusty Davis, Alvin Alexander, Barry Hickman, David Shores, and Joe Gregg.  Honorary bearers were Jack Shores, Pee Wee Shores, Dave Shores, Wilbur Barbour, Billy Jack Walk, and M.M. Clark.
Services were directed by Alexander Funeral Home.
