Maria Magdalena Wilhide was born October 28, 1787, in the Thurmont area of Frederick County, Maryland, daughter of John and Maria Barbara Weller Wilhide. On October 6, 1807, she married Christian Martin, son of David and Catharina Martin. He was evidently of a Mennonite family, and records concerning him have been difficult to come by. They were the parents of 5 children: Alice, Jacob, John A., David and Maria Martin. Maria Magdalena passed away March 27, 1830, in near Thurmont, Frederick County, Maryland, and was buried on the 28th in Graceham Moravian Church Cemetery, Graceham, Frederick County, Maryland.
