Mary Martin Young was the daughter of Christian and Maria Magdalena Wilhide Martin. A photo of her daughter, which is in an old photo album that belonged to my great-grandfather, William Landers Martin, is how I definitively identified who Mary Martin (Emma Jane's mother) was married to. After finding the marriage record of a Mary Martin to Henry Young in Frederick County, Maryland, and discovering that they eventually moved to Dayton, Ohio, I tried to verify if I had the right Mary Martin (William L. Martin's aunt). The inscription on the back of the photo identifies the lady as "Jennie Young." We know that Mary Martin Young's daughter, Emma Jane, was familiarly known as "Jennie," which was very common years ago. Then, realizing that the photograph is from a photographer in Dayton, Ohio, it all fit together!
