Anna Thackeray Funeral

Mrs. Anna Grace Thackeray, 89, died July 8, 1976, at a local hospital following a short illness.

She was born Sept. 26, 1886, in Alta, Iowa, and was educated in Iowa schools. She taught in rural schools in three states. In 1906 she moved with her family to Kenmare, N.D. and in 1910 the family moved to Montana where Mrs. Thackeray homesteaded in the Kremlin area.

She was married to William Thackeray on Jan. 3, 1912. He died in 1940. Mrs. Thackeray lived on the family ranch in the Havre area until 1945 when she moved into town to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Esther Naber.

Survivors include one son, William, of Chinook; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Naber of Havre and Mrs. Vernon Murch of Glasgow; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Karen Mortenson, Van Nuys, Calif., Ruth Malyon, Mantica, Calif., Magdaline Smith, Missoula, Bernice MacFarlane, Gresham, Ore., and Lois Best, Condon, Mont.

Mrs. Thackeray was a life-long member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
