Chinook-- William Webster "Web" Thackeray, 84, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, of natural causes.
Thackeray was born April 14, 1915, West of Havre, to William and Anna Grace (Engeberg) Thackeray. In 1935, he married his wife May.
Throughout his life Thackeray worked as a cowboy on ranches in North Central Montana. He enjoyed story telling, especially humorous stories and stories from his life and the lives of early Hi-Line pioneers.
He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick.
Survivors include his wife, May; sons, Dr. William Webster Thackeray of Havre, Gregory Stuart Thackeray of Boulder and Thomas James Thackeray of Roundup; sisters, Esther Naber of Havre and Ines Murch of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
