Mrs. Selas (Susie) Blanton of Franklin Furnace, Ohio was striekn on July 9 at her home and died Sunday July 16th at 10:30am in Mercy Hospital.
Born on October 13, 1890 in Magoffin County, Kentucky she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Appolina (Howard) Lemaster.
She was a resident of Magoffin County until 1935 when she moved to Franklin Furnace.
She married Seles Blanton on August 5, 1906 in Magoffin County, kentucky and they were the parents of 10 children.
Survivors include her husband, Seles Blanton; children Mrs. Eva Bayes, Mrs. Rose Spradlin, Mrs. Irene Spradlin, Mrs. John (Betty) Valentine, John Blanton, Mack Blanton, Paul Blanton and Walter Blanton.
Three step-children being Earl Gullett, Mitchell Gullett and Mavis Perkins; by brothers Fred Lemaster, Roscoe "Code" Lemaster, Mose Lemaster, Henry "App" Lemaster, Mack Lemaster and Bate Lemaster; by a sister Mrs. Sarah Reffitt and 9 grandchildren. Two sons predeceased her.
Funreral services were held at Jeanettes Creek Christian Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Bruce and Rev. Billy Williams officating. Burial followed in the Junior Furnace Cemetery under the direction of the Gill Funeral Home.
