Reba "Carol" Wear, 65 of Rockford, IL passed away at her home on Monday, November 7, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 18, 1946 in Lepanto, AR, the daughter of Fred and Janie Lee. Carol married Jim Wear in Rockford on December 2, 1961. She was a charter member of Charity Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jim Wear, her children; Sheila (Mike) Throgmartin, Jim (Vicky) Wear Jr., her grandchildren; David (Jessica), and Katelyn, her siblings; Hubert Lee, Velma Andrews, Mary Light, Sue Zweep, Linda Hullinger, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Gene Tanker.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd Machesney Park, IL 61115. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the services in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Rev. Mark Hullinger will conduct the services.
The family would like to especially thank Heartland Hospice, and their nurse Raylene for the exceptional care they took for Carol, and OSF Cancer Center.
