Fred J. Lee, 80, 3419 Airline Ave., died at 10:53 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 1983 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born Jan. 24, 1902, in Oklahoma, son of Benjamin and Louisa Nasalroad Lee. Lived 29 years in Rockford, coming from Lepanto, Ark. Married Janie Brown in Paragould, Ark. in 1934.
Employed as maintenance man by Barber-Coleman Co. 17 years; retiring 1968. Member Landmark Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janie; a son, Rev. Hubert Lee, Bald Knob, Ark.; nine daughters, Juanita Dye, Loves Park, Christine Andrews, Velma Andrews, Sue Warmoth, Carol Wear, Linda Hullinger and Carol Curtright, all of Rockford, Lucille Davis, California and Mary Light, Arlington, Texas; a stepson, Gene Tanker, Rockford; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, in DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME LTD., 401 River Lane, with the Rev. Eugene Garner, pastor, Landmark Baptist Church, officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call in the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
