1954 - Bought the adjoining farm west of his father's. Farmed all his life.
Went to tech. school for electrician, Measured tobacco allotments for A.S.C.X.
Reared 4 boys and 1 girl. College educated all who wanted it.
6' 2" 170 lbs. Olive completion, dark hair, brown eyes, smoked cigarettes and died from prostrate cancer.

Nichols - Clifton Wilson Collins, Sr.,age 65, died Saturday, November 10,1990 at his residence.
Born in Horry County, Mr. Collins was the son of Mrs. Mattie Lewis Collins and the late Patrick Henry Collins. He was a member of the Mullins VFW Post # 6122. He was a retired farmer and member of Pleasent View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mattie Lewis Collins; his wife, Mrs. Pearl Floyd Collins, of Nichols; four sons, Clifton W. Collins,Jr., of Florence, Floyd Michael Collins, of Nichols, Darrell Glenn Collins of Smithfield, N.C., and Timothy Erroll Collins of Lynn Haven, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Catherine P. Collins Erwin of Florence; two brothers, Sam and P.C. Collins both of Nichols; five sisters, Mrs. Louvenia Ford of Nichols, Mrs. Nancy Norton of Anderson, Mrs. Patricia Garrett of Mullins, Mrs.Corene McCain and Mrs. Dorthy Aiken, both of Columbia; and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, November 12, 1990 at Pleasent View Baptist Church, burial followed in the church cemetery. The Reverend Joseph Rollins officiated.
Pallbearers were Harlan Floyd, Gary Strickland, Gregg Huggins, and Dale Graham.
Meares Funeral Home of Mullins was in charge of the arrangements.
