Patricia Ann Collins Garrett, widow of the late Harold James Garrett Sr., passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at McLeod Hospice House.
Patricia was born February 3, 1938 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Patrick Henry and Mattie Jane Lewis Collins. She served her community in many ways, including as the Executive Director of the Mullins Chamber of Commerce for 17 years. Pat was a member of the Mullins First Baptist Church.
Patricia was predeceased in addition to her parents and husband by, two sisters, Louvinia Ford and Dorothy Aitken and three brothers, Clifton, Sam, and P.C. Collins. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Field and her husband Arthur of Charleston, Debra Coker and her husband Donald of Grovetown, GA, and Brenda Holliday and her husband James of Moncks Corner; one son Harold James " Jimmy" Garrett Jr. and his wife Paula, of Summerville; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Corene McCain and her husband Marshal of Columbia and Nancy Norton and her husband Harry of Summerton; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Garrett and his wife Wanda of Mullins.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 2nd at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church Flag Fund, Hwy. 19, Nichols, S.C. 29581. Meares Funeral Home of Mullins is in charge of arrangements.
