John Butler Ashby, 94, of Marshall, died Nov. 19 at the Blue Ridge, Christian Home, Bealeton.
Mr. Ashby was born March 14, 1909, in Fauquier County, a son of the late James Edward Ashby and Jeanette Thorpe Ashby.
He retired on April 1, 1974, from the A&P Supermarket in Warrenton, where he had worked for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dauther, Phronsie Ashby Joynes. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Weadon Ashby; and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, by the rev. Randy West. Interment will be at Orlean Cemetery.
