His wife, Alice (Whetsell) Winters, died in 1938. Surviving are four sons, William Winters of Horseshoe Run, WV, Robert Winters of here, Arlie Winters of Terra Alta, WV, Lester Winters of Sistersville, WV; three daughters, Mrs. Thurman Selders of Aurora, WV, Mrs. Newman Harvey of Pittsburg, Pa., Miss Hilda Winters at home; a sister, Florence Hauser of Horseshoe Run, WV; a brother, Charles W. Winters of Eglon, WV; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.Burial in the Texas Cemetery.
