CHARLES DENTON DIES IN KNOXVILLE
Charles H. Denton, formerly of Campbell County, died Saturday, August 3, at his home in Knoxville. He was operator and co-owner of Denton and Denton Public Accountants and was the former owner of Jacksboro Confectionary and Denton Block and Manufacturing Company in Jacksboro. He was 56.
He was a Veteran of World War II and holder of the Bronze Star. He was a former L and N telegraph operator and was a member of the National Society of Public Accountants.
He is survived by his wife, Rev Anna Mae Denton; sisters, Mrs. Lester Jarvis of San Francisco and Mrs. Joe Dusk of Burbank, California; half-sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jory of Gatlinburg and Mrs. Minnie Foster of Sequatchie, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday in Knoxville. Burial was in Jacksboro Cemetery with military honors.
