MERIDIAN — Services for William "Bill" Lewis Alexander will be held today at 2 p.m. at Duffee Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Danny Lanier and Chris Wells will officiate. Milling Funeral Home of Union is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Alexander, 72, of Duffee, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Frances T. Alexander; two daughters, Dawn A. Harrison and husband Glen, and Tammye A. Jones and husband Terry; one son, David S. Alexander and wife Robin; grandchildren, Axie Jones, Lacye Harrison, Delton Harrison, Josh Alexander, Molli Alexander, Heston Harrison, and Graciana Alexander; sisters Bernice Huddleston, Inez Robinson, Audrey Strange, Lyndol Ivey, and Martha Moore; along with numerous nieces, nephews, coworkers, and friends he made over his 40 year career at Winn Dixie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Mollie Alexander; his brother, Victor Alexander; his sisters, Shirley Johnson, Helen Alexander, and Daree Kilpatrick
Pallbearers will be Alvin Alexander, Tim Ivey, Murray Ivey, Paul McMullan, Dave Miller, and Jordan Benson
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
