Stephen BERGER, 199 Jane St. , employed of the Pekin Municipal Street Railway for several years, died at 9:00 P.M. (Sat. 20 Sep 1924) .
Mr. Berger had been ill for some time and recently underwent an operation. He was born in Ohio in 1858 and had been a resident of Pekin for many years. He is survived by his wife formerly Martha Jane May and the following children: Arthur Berger, Albert, Harry and Charles Berger all of Pekin and Mrs. James Thompson of Pekin and a son Martin who is in the United States Navy, stationed in Chaina. Four sisters, Mrs. Anna McClure, mrs. Minnie Miller and Mrs. Lizzy Haney all of Minier and Mrs.Sarah Cress of Delvavan also survive. Mr. Berger was a member of the Baptist church in Tremont. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at !:30 o'clock at Lohnes Funeral Parlors on Court St. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Webdell of the Baptist church and burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery.
