Dora is a daughter of Ann Callison Hudson and Silas Hudson, and one of eleven children. Dora's siblings were Ledru Dean, Carl Edgar, Mattie Bell, Stella Catherine, William T., Lee Cortez, Eva May, Mary Jane, Albert S., and Luella E.

Dora Victoria Hudson married Jonathan Guy Peery on October 27, 1895 at High Point Church near Shamrock, MO. Jonathan and Dora had two children, one son, born in 1896, who died when he was five days old, and one girl, Laura Mabyn Peery, born 1902, died 1977. Jonathan died February 28, 1910 from a fatal attack of appendicitis. Dora married John David Coil on September 30, 1914. Dora was a member of the Liberty Christian Church near Shamrock, where she attended services for many years. At the time of her death, Dora's husband and daughter survived her, as well as three grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. John Coil died in 1966. Dora was a kind, gentle, wonderful woman. Dora is interred in the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery, Shamrock, MO. and is listed on the records as Dora V. Coil Peery. This information, inaccurate for the last name of Dora, is taken from the hand written record book of cemetery burials. When Dora died, she was married to her second husband, John David Coil and had been married to him for 52 years. Because Dora's name appears on the headstone of Jonathan Peery, who died in 1910, when someone in administration was asked, they returned Dora's last name to Peery. Dora, is possibly buried in the same plot as her first husband, Jonathan Peery. Dora's second husband, John David Coil, rests beside her with her name on his headstone as well.
