Lee C. Hudson is the son of Ann Callison Hudson and Silas Hudson. One of eleven children, Lee was born in Shamrock, Missouri in 1879. Lee married Carrie May Lail on January 31, 1906 in a home wedding with the blessings of family and friends after a courtship that began in a country school near Shamrock, MO. Their courtship included attending spelling bees, box socials, and other social gatherings. After spending six years in Missouri, Lee and Carrie moved to Arizona where Lee worked at a tile factory at 27th Avenue and Grand in Glendale, AZ and also fed cattle and worked with sugar cane. Following time living in Arizona, Lee and Carrie returned to Missouri to live but found the weather was not conducive to the health of their children and returned to live in Arizona. Lee farmed west of Glendale, AZ for several years. The family home was on Lateral 17. Lee and Carrie had two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Helen) Stabler, Glendale, and Mrs. Nelson (Edith) Bender of Fall Brook, California, and Grandchildren. Both Lee and Carrie were active members of the Christian Church and Mr. Hudson served as Chairman of the Board of the church as well as a deacon.
