Andrew McGahey was born on December 5, 1793 and died in Sigourney, Keokuk Co., Iowa and was buried at the Conners Cemetery, Sigourney, Keokuk Co., Iowa. It is not known who he was married and had children, but it isn't known how many they had. A granddaughter, Frances Jacob Case, being the oldest descendant living in her 80's in 1950, said she believed her grandparents were deceased before she was born. Andrew never changed the spelling of his last name to McGaughey as did most of his brothers and sisters.
