Charles R. Critchfield, 76, of North Edgewood Avenue, Somerset, formerly of Rockwood, died April 15, 1983, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1907, in Rockwood, a son of the late Clarence and Catherine (Ansell) Critchfield. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank. He is survived by wife, the former Dorothy Barron; and these children: Jack B. of Winter Park, Fla.; James L. of Pittsburgh; and Mrs. Terry (Judy) Kelly, Somerset; these grandchildren: Mark and Lisa Critchfield, and Nathan and Terrisa Kelly. He was a brother of: John of Connellsville; James W. of Berlin; Mrs. Leonard (Louise) Romesburg and Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Sanner both of Rockwood RD 1. He was a member of Rockwood United Church of Christ. He was a retired employee of Chessie Railroad System. Friends were received at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services were conducted with the Rev. Jack Hazlett officiating. Interment, Rockwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Somerset Hospice unit in care of Somerset Community Hospital.
