Bettie (AKA Betsy or Elizabeth) Kerr, was the daughter of John Kerr and Elizabeth Hogshead/Hogsett.
According to family notes, possibly from an old bible: "Betsy Kerr was born in March the 24 in the yere Lord 1813." Her parents, John Kerr and Elizabeth Hogshead were buried here also. "Elizabeth (Kerr), unmarried, born 1813, died 1889, aged 76." (Brief History of the Kerrs & Kin by Vincent Brown Kerr, Staunton, VA, 1930, p 8, 13.)
Betsy Kerr died "8 Jan" 1889, aged 77 in Augusta Co., VA per line M89-28 of the death register. Abstracts of Augusta Co., VA Death Registers 1853-1896 by Margaret C Reese, Athens, GA, 1983, p 195. The real register is handwritten and Jan and Jun look similar.
