Mr. Riggle complained of being slightly indisposed when he returned home Wednesday evening and a sudden turn for the worse resulted in his death yesterday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock.
A son of the late Henry E. and Mary Weaver Riggle, he was born in Chartiers Township, Oct. 17, 1884. He had resided all his life in Houston where he was active in church and community circles.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Houston, having been recently elected secretary-treasurer of the Board of Deacons of the church. He was a member of the Men's Bible Class and was active in Bible School and church work.
He formerly served as tax collector in Chartiers Township, also as a road supervisor, and at the time of his death was secretary to the Board of Road Supervisors.
Mr. Riggle received his education in the Washington Business College and Jefferson Academy in Canonsburg. He taught school for a number of years and at the time of his death was employed as weighmaster for the Patsch Bros. Coal Company, Houston.
He is survived by his wife, Cora Hamilton Riggle, and the following children: Andrew H. Riggle, Worthington, O.; Royal G. Riggle, Mrs. Ida R. Chapman, Hazel R. Aufmann and Mrs. Jane Lee McCarty, all of Houston; Mrs. Hawlis Cashdollar, Bradford, Pa.; also two brothers: Ellis Riggle and Walter Riggle, both of Houston; two sisters: Mrs. Bertha Cooley, Clinton, Pa., Mrs. Grace Dunabar, Washington; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends are being received at the Speakman Funeral Home, where services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m., in charge of Dr. E. V. Condron, of the First U. P. Church. Interment will be in Oak Spring Cemetery.
