Deceased Name: Russell H. "Coach" Magleby

Russell H. Magleby, age 85, passed away on December 1, 1991 at his home in Salt Lake City.

Born October 30, 1906 to Jane Adam Warnock and John Ephriam Magleby in Monroe, Utah. Married Maude Jensen August 30, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death November 10, 1988. He played basketball and football while attending BYU. A faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities including bishop in the Grant 11th Ward and high councilman in the Salt Lake Grant Stake.

He touched many lives in the 41 years he served in the Granite School District as a coach and a counselor. Always generous with his time and talents; a loved and respected friend to all. Was a member of the Sugarhouse Lion's Club.

Survived by his daughters, Julie, Salt Lake City; Jann Labrum, Provo; sisters, Jennie Taylor, Calif.; Louisa Woodmansee, Salt Lake City; brother, McRay Magleby, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by sisters, Fern Kimball, Ivy Peterson, Vera Richenbach; brothers, John and Reed Magleby.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 1991 at the Grant 11th Ward, 3151 South 900 East at 12 noon. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, and one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment: MacKay Holladay Memorial Park.
